Open Letter to Staff and Community
June 15, 2012
To the Holliday ISD School Community:
The teachers, coaches, counselors, administrators, staff and board of Holliday ISD take great pride in the job we do educating, counseling, coaching, and preparing our students to be successful in life. We all view our jobs as a calling and a profound trust placed in us by the parents of our students and the community. When someone breaks that trust (as has been alleged) we all feel a great sadness because that trusting relationship with students and parents is at the heart of who we are and what we do individually and collectively.
I understand that our whole school community has questions in regards to allegations about one of our employees. I can only relate the facts that I have been made aware of by law enforcement and cannot speculate about anything else.
A teacher and Head Softball Coach at Holliday ISD has resigned as of Thursday June 14, 2012. I have been informed by law enforcement that there is an ongoing investigation into the conduct of one of our employees. As required by law I have filed a report with SBEC in regards to possible educator misconduct.
There will not be any further comment from Holliday ISD on the alleged incident because there is an ongoing investigation and it is in the hands of law enforcement.
The safety and well being of the students of Holliday ISD is our first priority.
