Holliday ISD TAKS and EOC Results
June 20, 2012
Passing rates for Holliday High School students were very good in most areas compared to the state results. While much of the focus is on the new EOC tests 10th and 11th graders still have to take and pass the TAKS in order to graduate. The TAKS results for HHS are as follows:
11th Grade TAKS HHS State
English/ELA 98% 93%
Math 94% 91%
Social Studies 97% 98%
Science 96% 94%
10th Grade TAKS HHS State
English/ELA 97% 91%
Math 85% 74%
Social Studies 96% 94%
Science 89% 75%
As has been noted across the state the EOC tests were more rigorous but HHS Freshman did well compared to the state in all subjects except World Geography.
9th Grade EOC HHS State
English 1 Reading 86% 68%
English 1 Writing 79% 55%
Algebra 83% 83%
Geometry 100% 98%
Biology 91% 87%
World Geography 75% 81%
According to Holliday High School Principal Shannon Owen “While these initial results on the EOC’s are good we really look at them as a starting point to begin working to improve our instruction and student learning.”
