Holliday ISD Uses Oncor Grant for HVAC Upgrades
August 06, 2012
Holliday ISD recently completed a HVAC upgrade project utilizing a 50% grant from Oncor Energy. The grant replaced a total 21 units at the Middle School, High School and Annex buildings. The units replaced were all 15+ years old and not as energy efficient as newer models. Replacing the units helps the district in two ways. First the district will save repair and or replacement costs over the next few years and most importantly they will save energy reducing costs to the district. The project replaced 12 split systems that upgraded the units from 10 to 16 SEER and 5 rooftop units that were upgraded from 9 to 12 EER. The total cost of the project was approximately $100,000. The Oncor grant was a 50% matching grant with Oncor funding at approximately $50,000.
