2017 School Year Off to a Great Start

August 28, 2017

Holliday ISD had a great start to the 2017 school year with some new faces, new activities and the solar eclipse. District enrollment for the first week was 1013 up 55 students from 2016. HISD welcomed 10 new staff members on all 3 campuses.

Some of the summer facilities improvements included new water bottle fillers at all 3 campuses, the band hall and field house, new lighting and ceiling grid in the Middle School Band Hall, and recently completed playground upgrades at Elementary which was funded by the Holliday Elementary PTO. We also have plans to upgrade the Elementary data and WIFI during the school year using a mix of local and ERATE grant funds.

Extracurricular activities are off to a good start with Band, Football, Volleyball and Cross Country all going strong. Holliday High School is also recruiting for UIL Academics and making plans for a repeat of a State Championship. HHS will also compete in Robotics for the first time this year along with offering a second year of engineering. High school seniors are also getting to decorate their parking spots for the first time as a fundraiser for the senior class.

All in all, it has been a great start to the school year. HERO!
