Landowner's Bill of Rights (Texas Attorney General)

Statement Required by Texas Tax Code 26.05(b)(2) regarding 2010-2011 Tax Rate:  HOLLIDAY ISD ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR'S TAX RATE.

Statement Not Required by Texas Tax Code 26.05(b)(2) regarding 2010-2011 Tax Rate:  THE ADOPTION OF THIS TAX RATE WAS NECESSARY TO MAINTAIN THE SAME LEVEL OF STATE AND LOCAL REVENUE FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS.  THE INCREASE IN LOCAL REVENUE IS OFFSET BY A DECREASE IN STATE REVENUE.  THE ADOPTION OF A LOWER RATE WOULD RESULT IN A DECREASE IN COMBINED STATE AND LOCAL REVENUE.
