Welcome to Mrs. Allbritton's 1st Grade Class!

Room 204

This is a very special year in your child’s school career!  First grade is a time to experience important transitions and acquire new skills.  During the year, your child will learn how to read, write stories, add, subtract, and so much more.  I hope to instill a love of learning for each & every child.

Coming to School and Dismissal

Children may come to my classroom between 7:45 – 8:00.  The tardy bell rings at 8:00.  Please have your child to school on time.  If your child arrives to school before 7:45, they need to wait in the cafeteria until 7:45.  Please drop your child off at the front door.  Dismissal is at 3:10.  If your child is a town student, you will pick them up from the front of the school where a first grade teacher will be waiting with them.  If your child is a bus student, a first grade teacher will take them to the cafeteria while we are waiting on their bus.  If your child goes to Country Campus, a first grade teacher will walk them to the Country Campus van.  Your child's safety is very important to all of the first grade teachers.

Homework

All homework is a reinforcement or extension of class instruction.  Look for Phonics, Math, and Reading homework Monday – Thursday.  HOMEWORK IS TO BE RETURNED THE NEXT DAY.

Reading is vital to learning.  Please listen to and encourage your child to read.  A slip will be sent home for you to sign and return with your child’s reading homework.

Library Books

Our class will visit the library each Thursday.  Their books must be returned before another is checked out.
