Did you know the first jack-o'-lanterns were not made from pumpkins?  That's right!  They were made from turnips. 

The HMS Gifted and Talented students recently created their own version of a jack-o'-lanterns, but they could not use pumpkins. Who knew there were so many different ways to make a jack-o'-lantern??

Teachers and staff voted for their favorites and the following G/T students got to take home the "pum-king" awards! 

1st Place - Knox Donoho
