Elementary Counselor
A Message From the Counselor:
I would like to take this time to inform you about my responsibilities as your student's school counselor. My name is Julie New and I am the elementary counselor at Holliday ISD. Some of the counseling services that I will provide this year include the following:
- Teach classroom character education lessons
- Counsel individual students as needed and maintain confidentiality
- Referrals to the counselor can be made by students, teachers, or parents. Parents can make a request by email, phone call, or by using the “Parent Referral” link found on the Counselor’s Corner of the Elementary webpage.
- Counsel with small groups of students with similar concerns
- Consult with teachers in meeting individual student needs
- Coordinate and manage the 504 Progam for HES
- Coordinate and help with parent involvement activities
Individual and small group counseling will be done as needed, but if more extensive time in counseling is considered necessary I will contact you with referral information with an outside agency/counselor. If you have any questions or concerns or feel there is a need for counseling regularly, please contact me at 586-1986 or julie.new@hollidayisd.net. I am looking forward to a great school year.
